Quirindi CIC (10-11 July)
The team travelled north to Quirindi for the
second time this year. The horses all went
well and most of the horses brought home a
ribbon.
Niki had just one horse, Wisteria Lane
(Kirra) in the Pre Novice class. Kirra
went very well she scored over 70% in the
dressage to lead the class, she jumped well and
finished on her dressage score and won the
class.
Shane also had a win, Statford Neo
won the CIC1* class with Sir Dex
3rd in the same class. Shane was 2nd and
3rd in the Pre Novice on Cleddau Achtung
and Kinnordy Giselle
respectively. Il Vici was
having his first One star start and had a cheeky
run out cross country to finish outside the
placings. Shane's other ride
Vinchenzo jumped well but was still a
bit green on the flat so did not place this time
out.
It was a great event and we look forward to our
next trip to Quirindi.

Berrima CNC
(3-4 July 2010)
Berrima only ran to Pre Novice
level at this competition so the big kids stayed
at home which gave the youngsters a chance to
get out on the competition scene. They all
performed very well, Shane was very pleased with
his team. He won the Pre Novice on the
Ledner families Cleddau Achtung
a great result for this 4 year old. Shane
was also 3rd on another 4 year old
Vivanthorpe who was bred by Carol
Chapman, Shane's third horse in the Pre Novice
was Il Vici who went well but
finished outside the placings.
Shane won the Prelim with
Kinnordy Giselle who is owned
by Charlotte Mavris. They scored 75% in
the dressage and added no more penalities to
their score to win the class in fine style.
Vinchenzo also finished on his
dressage score and placed 7th in the Prelim.
Shane was in the placing's with Angela
Shacklady's Purbeck Finale
until a silly run out cross country ended there
chance of a podium finish.
Niki rode Wisteria
Lane in the Pre Novice they were
leading the class after the Dressage and
Showjumping but a few time penalities Cross
Country dropped them down to 5th and allowed
Shane to win the class.
Rachel rode her own Mr
Madoodoe in the Pre Novice, they went
well but finished outside the placing's.

Melbourne Three Day
Event (11-14 May 2010)
Werribee presented us with
cold wet weather on arrival and it stayed that
way throughout the competition. Shane had
two rides in the CCI2* Star Am I
owned by Sharmayne Spencer did a super test to
be in 2nd place, they flew around the tough
cross country course to move into the lead
however a green showjumping round saw them slip
to 2nd position. Still an outstanding
result for a young horse who had his first 2*
start 6 weeks ago!
Shane's other ride was
Statford Novalis, they put in a great
test, their scored suffered a little by being
first in, they were in 4th after the completion
of the dressage. Novalis made light work
of the cross country course to come in clear and
under time and move into second position just
behind Shane on Star Am I. Unfortunately
Novalis was a little sore on showjump morning so
was not presented for the trot up.
Niki rode Milford
Monarch in the CCI2*, they put in a
average test to be down the order. They
did however have a great cross country round
with Archie jumping everything really well.
Archie jumped well in the showjumping but had
two unlucky rails. They finished outside
the placing's.
At Melbourne Three Day Event the book
An Eventful Life was
launched.
An Eventful Life provides an
insight into the lives of five elite Australian
eventing riders: Sonja Johnson, Megan Jones,
Shane Rose, Wendy Schaeffer and Stuart Tinney.
They are all Olympic medallists, they are all
aiming for further medals and they are all still
based in Australia.
An additional chapter on an
up and coming rider, Emma Scott, reveals how
younger Australian riders vying to take over
from these champions view the world of
professional equestrian sport.
More information about the
book can be found at

Eventing Equestriad
Australia (22-23 May 2010)
Niki and Shane are committee
members so assist with the running of this
event. Niki decided not to ride this year
and concentrate on assisting the committee.
Shane still managed to assist running the show
and ride 6 horses although he was not completely
on the ball and found himself eliminated for
missing several fences in the 3* on
Statford Novalis, Shane completely
forgot the loop through the main arena.
Fortunately he remembered to jump all the jumps
on Taurus who finished in 3rd
place in the CIC3*, they were the only
combination to finish on their dressage score.
Shane was 7th in the CIC2* with Sharmayne
Spencer's Star Am I. In
the CIC1* Shane was 3rd with Statford
Neo and 5th with Sir Dex.
The classy 4 year old Cleddau Achtung
went well the it Pre Novice for 3rd placing.
Michelle rode Il Vici
in the Pre Novice but Vici had a cheeky run out
cross country so they finished down the order.
Vici will now have a well earned month of rest
and relaxation.

Sydney CIC-W
(8-9 May 2010)
The World Cup event is the
richest one day event in Australia so the one
everyone wants to win. Shane had four
horses in the World Cup class. APH Moritz
did a very flash dressage test to be in third
place however he managed to bash his leg and
Shane decided not to start him cross country.
There were only three horse in the whole class
to finish the tough cross country course under
time and amazingly Shane rode two of these
horses Taurus and Koko
Black. Shane was thrilled with
both horses but their inexperience cost them in
the tight indoor showjumping were they had two
down each. They finished in 8th and 12th
places respectively. Statford
Novalis tired on the hilly cross
country course and did not complete the course.
Star Am I finished on his
dressage score to place 3rd in the CIC2*.
Michelle rode Il Vici in the
young event horse class, former World Champion
Vaughan Jefferies from New Zealand was the
judge. Vaughan was very impressed with Il
Vici and said he was one of the nicest young
horses he has seen a long time. Il Vici was
Vaughan favourite horse in the competition and
winner of the the 5 year old class. Niki
rode Wisteria Lane in the 5 year old class to
finish 4th and rode Cleddau Achtung in the 4
year old class and placed 3rd.
Rachel was pleased with Ziggy Starrdust who
finished 11th in the Prelim.
Niki Did not have a great weekend, she tried a
new bit cross country and Archie (Milford
Monarch) was not impressed and through
his head around in disgust whenever Niki pulled
on the reins, he was not focusing on the fences
so Niki elected to retire cross country.
Kirra (Wisteria Lane) did a
super test to be in the lead, however karma come
out to play and after Niki laughed at Shane for
falling off last week it was her turn to hit the
dust. Kirra had been jumping great but at
the third last fence there was a
misunderstanding and Kirra hit the fence sending
Niki out the front door.
Everything was looking good
until..................

Quirindi (1-2
May 2010)
Quirindi held there first 2*
level event and Shane was keen to see the new
track and had three horses entered in the class.
Cassie Lowe's Koko Black placed
4th, APH Moritz was 5th and
Star Am I 7th. It was a good
track with several combinations running into
problems at a double of brush arrowheads.
Vivanthorpe went well in the
Pre Novice to finish 8th. Niki decided to
stay home for the weekend so Shane took
Wisteria Lane (Kirra) to ride.
Niki found it very funny to hear that Kirra had
stopped suddenly cross country and sent Shane
flying. She was between fences and took a
dislike to something and decided to head back
were see came from, Shane was not expecting such
a reaction so ended up on his bum. Shane
also rode Regency Lula who was
having here first outing and all went well until
the water when Lula was not interested in
getting her feet wet.......more schooling
needed!
Michelle rode Il Vici
and was thrilled to beat Shane and
finish in 6th place. Rachel was 11th in
the same class with Mr Madoodoe,
Rachel was also 8th with Ziggy
Starddust in the Prelim.

Canberra
(24-25 April 2010)
We arrived in at the Canberra
venue and were immediately impressed by the
improvements that have been made to the venue.
There are two massive all weather arena that
look fantastic and were great to ride on too.
Our team of horses went well,
Niki won the Prelim on Wisteria Lane
who was having her first start for the year, it
was an impressive win finishing over 10 points
ahead of 2nd place. Niki also rode
Beatle and Biscuit in
the Intro, both horses are very green but had a
good weekend out and gained more experience.
Shane rode Sir Dex
and Statford Neo in the CNC1*.
Dex went well but had an uncharacteristic 2
rails in the jumping to drop out of the
placing's. Neo needed a second look at the
drop into water so incurred 20 penalties which
dropped him down the order. Holly (Vivanthorpe)
was having her first Pre Novice start and coped
very well, she had a few time penalities cross
country but Shane was very pleased with this 4
year old. Shane also rode the home bred
Nugget in the Prelim and he
went well and is quickly becoming a favourite of
Shane's.
Michelle rode Il Vici
in the Pre Novice they went well but
finished outside the placing's this week.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Albury CIC
(9-11 April 2010)
Albury is always a great
event, the committee put in a great deal of
effort to ensure the going is good on the cross
country course. Unfortunately a downpour
of rain made the harrowed ground a bit slippery
but overall the going was good, just a bit wet
in patches.
Shane was busy with 5 rides in
the competition, he had pleasing results with
Taurus (Arvey) placing 4th in
the CIC3*, the placegetters were separated by
tiny margins of less then half a penalty.
Shane was thrilled with Arvey and said he feels
like an old pro on the cross country course
which is amazing considering he is just a 7 year
old. Shane placed 2nd in the CIC1* with
Star am I and 5th with
Statford Neo, the CIC1* had 47 starters
so to finish in the placings was no easy feat!
Sir Dex was also in the big
CIC1* field and finished in 12th place.
Shane's other ride for the weekend was
Cleddau Achtung (Arlie) in the Pre
Novice, he lead the dressage and jumped well
cross country, an unfortunate two rails dropped
him back to 4th place. Shane felt he was a
little flat and tired in the showjumping
probably due to the fact that Arlie is just 4
years old and this was his first big trip (5hr
drive) to a competition.
Emma Scott was very happy to
have her star horse Mustang
back on the competition scene, they went well to
finish in 6th place in the CIC3*.
Niki rode Milford
Monarch in the CIC2* and placed 4th.
Rachel Watts rode her horse Mr Madoodoe
in the Pre Novice and they finished a pleasing
7th place.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Berrima CIC
(27-28 March 2010)
Michelle and Il Vici looking very flash on the
cross country course.
The 'Bimbadeen' team headed to
Berrima CIC without Shane as he is still feeling
the effects of being kicked by a horse.
The event was well run and the horses performed
well. Niki won the Prelim with Rebecca
Richardson's Taddy, Taddy was
bred by Carol Chapman and campaigned by Niki
until sold to Bec in 2007. Bec has done a
great job with him and Niki enjoyed riding him
again. Niki placed 5th in the CIC2* with
the Aldridge families Milford Monarch,
he is really confident at this level now and
will look to move up to 3* once his flying
changes are under control. Niki also rode
Lisa Neville's Central Park Montego Bay
and he went well a little tap dance at the drop
into water resulted in 20 penalties which put
him out of the placing's. Niki also rode
Beatle in his first
competition, he was very well behaved and not at
all phased by the competition environment.
He is still green on the flat, however he found
the jumping very easy and enjoyable. He is
a nice horse for the future.
Michelle Robson rode the Scone
Prelim winner Il Vici in the
Pre Novice. Vici handled the step up in grade
well and put in a solid performance, he finished
outside the placings this week.
Emma Scott took the ride of
Statford Neo when Shane was
unable to ride. Neo had his first 1*
start, Emma was really pleased with her catch
ride and they finished in 8th place in the very
big 1* class. Emma also placed 4th on her
own Montana in the Prelim.
Rachel Watts rode
Doogie in the Pre Novice but had an
unfortunate stop cross country to keep them out
of the placing's.

Scone CNC
(13-14 March 2010)
Scone is a competition on the
calendar that we always look forward to.
It was once again a great weekend which has the
continued support of Mt Arthur Coal. The
support of Mt Arthur Coal ensures a fantastic
competition for everyone.
Shane was disappointed not to
win the CNC3*. He was well in the lead
following the Dressage and Cross Country with
Charlotte Mavris' Ari de Gwaihir.
He was however kicked in the warm up arena and
unable to showjump. He required a couple
of stiches but the injury should only be a short
term set back. Statford Novalis
went well all weekend but an unfortunate rail
cost him the win. He did however finish in
3rd place. It was a frustrating class for
Shane as he feels he should have finished in 1st
and 2nd place. Koko Black
was having his first start for the year and have
a spooky stop early in the course, he did
improve as the course went on and should be back
on form next time out.
Star am I and
Shane went well to win the CNC1*. Shane
also rode Statford Neo and
Sir Dex to place 3rd and 4th in
the Pre Novice.
Michelle Robson rode the
lovely TB Il Vici, they had a
great weekend and won the Prelim. This is
Il Vici's first win as a performance horse and
we are sure it will not be his last.
Niki rode Milford
Monarch and placed 3rd in the CNC2*,
Archie as he is known is getting more consistent
on the flat which should see him become a very
competitive horse. Niki also rode Lisa
Neville's Central Park Montego Bay
in the Prelim, he was a little green at this
level and made a few mistakes cross country, but
at least Niki managed to find all the jumps this
time!

Hawkesbury Dressage
(28 February 2010)
A successful day out for the
team of eventers. Shane and Ari de
Gwaihir won the 4A with a super score
of 70.83%, Ari was followed by Shane &
Taurus on another good score of 70.56%.
Niki rode Milford Monarch who
was out of the placing's but improved
dramatically from one test to the other.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Sydney CNC
(20-21 February 2010)
The 2010 eventing season
kicked off in NSW at SIEC. The Bimbadeen
Park team was out in force. Shane had a
great weekend, winning the CNC3* on the lovely
Ari de Gwaihir. Ari is a
new member of the Bimbadeen Team, he was
formerly ridden by Stuart Tinney. Ari is
owned by Charlotte Mavris and is aimed for the
World Equestrian Games later in the year.
Another new ride for Shane is
Sharmayne Spencers Star am I
(Jake). Shane and Jake also had a
successful debut by placing 2nd in the CNC1*.
Good friend Lee Hokianga was
injured on Saturday morning so Shane jumped
aboard her horse Umuga and won
the Pre Novice class, he was also 2nd in the
same class on Sir Dex.
Two of our youngsters,
Billy and Holly
competed in the Prelim class with Shane and
placed 3rd and 8th respectively.
Niki could have had a
successful weekend when her only ride for the
competition, Central Park Montego Bay
was well in the lead after the dressage and
Showjumping. He also jumped clear cross
country and came in under time but unfortunately
Niki missed a fence which resulted in
elimination.
Emma Scott won a prelim class
on her young horse Montana, she
also finished 11th on Jenburn
Christopher. Charlotte Mottram's
young horse Joey placed 6th
with Emma in the saddle in the Introductory.
Michelle Robson gave
Il Vici a nice first start for the
season, they clocked up a few time penalties so
finished out of the placings.

Equestrian NSW Awards
(5 February 2010)
On February 10 the Equestrian
NSW annual awards dinner was held. These
occasions are a great chance to catch up with
riders from other disciplines and recognise the
award winners. Shane was thrilled to
receive the 2009 Eventing Rider of the Year.
Shane would like to thank all his supportive
owners who allow him to ride such lovely horses.

Dresage NSW Young
Horse (30 January 2010)
Niki took Cleddau
Achtung and Wisteria Lane
to the Young Horse competition at Clarendon.
Cleddau Achtung owned by the
Ledner family went very well to finish in 3rd
place. He beat a number of imported
dressage warmbloods, not bad for an eventer!
Wisteria Lane went well but
finished down the order, she is just coming back
into work. She found the heavy going hard
work and did not produce her best work.

Equestrian Australia
National Squads
The National squads for 2010
have been announced and we were thrilled that
Shane has been included on the National 'A'
Squad with Johnnie Walker's Taurus
and Cassie Lowe's Koko Black.
These are two exciting young horses and we are
pleased that the National selectors feel they
have the potential to represent Australia in the
future. Emma Scott is also listed on the
National 'A' squad with her two horses
Mustang and Jenburn Monyana.

Busy times at
Bimbadeen Park
While most people rest and
enjoy the Christmas break, Shane and whoever he
can convince to help spend the quiet time to
improve the property. Over the Summer
Shane along with Peter Wilkins and Jeremy Clarke
built a brand new stable block and gutted the
existing block and rebuilt the interior.
So we now have 23 lovely big new boxes.
Plans for another 8 are under way and will be
completed when finances and time allows.

Congratulations
Michelle
We are proud to announce that
Michelle was awarded the FEI Groom of the Year
trophy at a glitzy ceremony in Denmark.
Michelle was in attendance to accept the award.
A great recognition for a fantastic groom.
Well done Michelle.

Adelaide International
Three Day Event (13-15 November)
Always a highlight on the
Eventing calendar is the Adelaide Three Day
Event, it is an amazing event that happens right
in the centre of the city. Well done to
the committee who staged a great event.
Shane rode All Luck
in the CCI4*, Lucky did a great test to be in
3rd place after the dressage. The cross
country proved very tough with many experienced
combinations running into problems, including
Shane and Lucky. Lucky was not his usual
self cross country so Shane elected to retire
after two problems cross country. Shane
also rode Cassie Lowe's Koko Black
in the CCI2*, they went well but an expensive
rail had them finish 3rd overall.
Statford Novalis was in Adelaide to
defend his CIC2* title that he won last year and
he looked on track for a repeat performance
however 2 uncharacteristic rails in the
showjumping cost him the win. Novalis had to
settle for 2nd place this year.
Emma Scott was disappointed to
miss the 4* due to a minor setback with her star
horse Mustang however her young 6yo
Jenburn Monyana who was the youngest
horse in the CCI2* made it a good weekend by
winning the class. Monyana is very flash
both on the flat and over a fence and is a very
exciting prospect for the future.
Niki rode the Aldridge
families Milford Monarch, he
did a decent test, there is still plenty of room
for improvement. Niki was however
disappointed to be well down in the placing's
after the dressage, however they made leaps up
the leaderboard after a clear cross country with
a few time penalties and a great clear
showjumping round to finish in overall 12th
place.
Congratulations to Stuart
Tinney who won the CCI4* with the lovely grey
Vettori and also to the Australian Team that won
the Trans Tasman Challenge.

Hawkesbury Dressage
Championship (8 November)
We attended the Hawkesbury
dressage championships at SIEC to fine tune our
dressage skills before Adelaide Three Day Event.
The horses went well in most classes.
Shane and All Luck were named
reserve Medium champion and Moritz
was third overall in the Medium classes.
Taurus was in the minor placing's in
the Elementary class.
Niki rode Ladybrook
Remington who showed some good work but
also some moments of tension however they were
still able to take home the Elementary
Championship trophy. Milford
Monarch was in the same class and is
still a little green at this level and finished
outside the placing's. Niki also had two
horses in the Novice classes, Sir Dex
is getting better all the time and ended up
Reserve Novice Champion (on a count back).
WP Midnight Oil was well
behaved and placed 3rd in both Novice classes.
Emma rode her young horse
Jenburn Monyana and placed in
one of the Elementary classes.

EXCITING NEWS:
Michelle Robson who has been with us
for 6 years has been named as a finalist in the
FEI Grooms award. Michelle has been
invited by the FEI to the awards dinner in
Denmark! Michelle will fly out straight
after Adelaide Three Day Event, we wish her the
best of luck. Michelle would certainly be
a worthy recipient of this award. Special
thanks to the FEI for recognising Michelle and
other hard working grooms who dedicate
themselves to caring for horses. To see an
article on Michelle go to:

Good Luck Michelle.

Wagga Wagga CNC
(31 Oct - 1 Nov)
We headed off to Wagga with a
truck full mainly of youngsters. Our
working pupil Charlotte Gorman-Deane was the
team star winning the Prelim class with her
horse Run Scottie Run.
Shane was pleased with his
team and placed 2nd in the CNC3* with
Taurus, he was 6th & 7th in the Pre
Novice with the 4yo Cleddau Achtung
and 5yo stallion Statford Neo
respectively. Emma stayed home this
weekend and so Shane rode Benjie's Duke
in his first Pre Novice class he went well but
finished outside the placing's. Shane's
other ride for the weekend was Billy
a young horse by Bao Lack who is also the sire
of All Luck, Billy placed 5th in the Prelim.
Niki rode Ladybrook
Remington in the CNC2* and placed 5th.
Niki was also 2nd in the Introductory with
WP Holly (by Vivant) who was
having her first eventing start. Niki's
Pre Novice ride was Sir Dex who
is still new to this level and finished outside
the placing's.
Rachel Watts rode her own
Ziggystarr Dust in the Prelim
and finished in 10th position.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Goulburn CIC
(17 - 18 October)
We always love heading to
Goulburn CIC and this year was no exception.
'Lynton' looked amazing with lush green paddocks
and the going was fantastic. Geordie and
Neil Kennedy and their team did a great job and
the event was very well run.
The Bimbadeen horses went well
with Shane placing 3rd in the CIC3* with
Statford Novalis, he was also 7th with
APH Moritz and Taurus
went well but finished out of the placing's.
Shane also placed 4th in the Pre Novice with
Statford Neo (By
Statford Novalis) and was 6th in the
Prelim with Cleddau Achtung.
Niki rode Milford
Monarch who is now established at 2*
level, a few time penalties dropped them down
the field to finish 12th, he did however jump
fantastic. Niki also had Sir Dex
and Wisteria Lane in the Pre
Novice who are both new to this level, they both
did good dressage tests and showjumped clear but
picked up a frustrating 20 penalties each cross
country to finish down the order.
Emma and her young star
Jenburn Monyana went well to
place 2nd in the large CIC2* class. Emma
also rode Benjie's Duke who was
a little green in the dressage but finished on
their dressage score to end up in 11th position
in the Prelim.
Charlotte rode her own horse
Run Scottie Run who had an unfortunate
stop to drop down the order.
____________________________________________________________________________________
Australian Showjumping
Championships (9 - 11 October)
We headed to the Australian
Showjumping Championship to brush up on our
showjumping skills. The classes were huge
with over 140 starters in most classes so the
chances of winning a ribbon was very slim.
Niki used the competition to
school here horses and never tried to win the
speed classes. Niki was pleased with all
her horses (Sir Dex, Wisteria Lane,
Ladybrook Remington, Milford Monarch
and WP Holly).
Holly was having her first outing and
was very well behaved, she jumped three clear
rounds. Here father 'Vivant' was crowned
the Australian Showjumping Champion, so
hopefully she has the jumping ability of her
dad.
Shane loves to jump against
the clock and he scorched around the D Grade
with Koko Black to win the
class, beating the other 150 starters. His other
horses all jumped well (Statford Novalis,
APH Moritz, Taurus, Statford Neo and
Cleddau Achtung)
Emma jumped Monyana
as well as the two youngsters Benjie's
Duke and Billy (Who
needs a proper name still) who all jumped good
rounds.
Rachel rode her two horses and
they have benefited for the experience.

Canberra CIC
(3-4 October)
We headed to Canberra with a
team of horses, the weather was cold and wet.
The venue however coped very well and the Grant
Johnston Cross Country course handle the weather
well. The course look big and technical
for all grades but rode very well. Shane
had a good weekend placing 2nd, 3rd and 7th in
the CIC3* with Koko Black, APH Moritz
and Taurus
respectively. He was also 2nd in the
Prelim on the promising young Cleddau
Achtung (Formerly Jaybee Alerich).
Shane's two Pre Novice horse went well but
finished outside the placing's.
Niki also had a good weekend
winning the Prelim on Wisteria Lane,
who has now won her last three starts.
Ladybrook Remington was better behaved
this weekend to finish 5th in the CIC2* and
Milford Monarch was 7th in the same
class. Sir Dex had his
first Pre Novice start and went really well but
finished down the order due to time faults cross
country.
Charlotte rode her horse
Run Scottie Run but had an
unfortunate stop cross country.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Scone CNC
(26-27 September)
Margo White and her team did a
fantastic job and ran a super event. The
newly revamped cross country course looked
fantastic, Wayne and Prue Copping have put a
great deal of thought and effort into the cross
country course and it rode very well. All
the improvement were made possible due the
generous sponsorship from Mt Arthur Coal, all
the riders certainly benefit from this
sponsorship and we all hope this association
will continue into the future to the benefit of
not only Scone Horse Trials but the sport as a
whole.
Bimbadeen Park had a big team
of horses at Scone and most performed well in
the windy conditions. Bimbadeen horses
dominated the CNC3* class, we had 5 horses in
the top 6 places. Shane won the class on
All Luck, Emma was 2nd on the
wonderful Mustang, Shane placed
4th, 5th and 6th with Koko Black,
APH Moritz and Statford
Novalis respectively.
In the CNC2* Shane was 3rd
with Taurus. Niki with
Milford Monarch and Emma Scott
with Jenburn Monyana both went
well in the CNC2* but finished outside the
placing's. Ladybrook Remington
ridden by Niki did not cope
with the windy conditions and really never
settled in the dressage phase so took not
further part in the competition.
Shane had Robert Palm's
Blameitonthebear in the CNC1*,
he was a little green at this level but will no
doubt improve in the future.
In the Prelim the Bimbadeen
Park team picked up a few ribbons, Niki and
Wisteria Lane lead from start
to finish to win the class. Jessamy and
WP Midnight Oil placed 4th in
the same class. In the other Prelim
section Charlotte Gorman-Deane and her horse
Run Scottie Run were on track
to finish on the podium but time penalties cross
country dropped them down the order. Emma
and the lovely young Benjie's Duke
finished the competition in 6th place in the
prelim class. Niki also rode Sir Dex who
jumped really well but was very keen cross
country so Niki gave him a schooling round and
as a result picked up time penalties
Michelle rode Il Vici
in his first eventing competition and
he went very nicely and took everything in his
stride. Michelle felt that he really had
fun cross country and jumped everything very
well. He unfortunately had the last rail
in the showjumping but still placed 5th in the
Introductory class, which was pleasing for his
first eventing start.

Shoalhaven Dressage
(20 September)
The team headed of to
Shoalhaven Dressage Day to polish up our test
riding skills and give the horses the
opportunity to do a few tests in a day.
The horses all went well and we managed to pick
up a few ribbons and points.
Shane and All Luck
won both the Medium tests, APH Mortiz
was also in the Medium classes and placed 2nd
and 5th. Shane also rode Taurus
was 1st and 2nd in the Elementary
classes.
Niki was won two Elementary
classes on Ladybrook Remington
and placed 1st and 2nd with Wisteria
Lane in the Novice sections.
Jessamy rode the ever
consistent WP Midnight Oil and
placed 1st and 2nd in a Prelim and Novice test.
Michelle rode Il Vici
who has recently finished racing, he coped very
well at his first outing and placed 3rd and 4th
in two Prelim classes.

Sydney International
Three Day Event (10-13 September)
The committee and volunteers
did a fantastic job running a great competition
and were blessed with wonderful warm weather.
Shane rode three horses in the 3DE.
Koko Black was first into the
arena and did great test but suffered a little
from being the first out and did not receive the
score we felt he deserved, they did finish the
day in 3rd. Statford DeMarco
was also in the 2* and did a good test to be
only a few points off the lead in 5th place.
Blameitonthebear did a good
test to be in 4th place after the dressage.
On Saturday (Cross Country
day) Blameitonthebear went well
and finished clear and under time to move up to
3rd place. Koko Black
jumped super and tackled all the tough lines
like an old pro however he had a frustrating
stop at a simple fence that dropped him down the
placings. Statford DeMarco
was going great guns and on track to finish
clear and under time until the second last fence
which he jumped well but landed and went lame.
Sadly he has sustained an injury that will end
his eventing career. It was a very sad day
for the Bimbadeen Park team, Marco has been a
part of our family for nearly 6 years and we
were devastated that he was injured, he will
however have a long and enjoyable retirement in
a paddock at Bimbadeen Park.
Showjumping day saw
Koko Black move up to 4th place with a
great clear jumping round. An unlucky rain
for Blameitonthebear moved them
down to 5th place.
Our young horses were the
stars of the team. The Bimbadeen Horses
just missed out on a clean sweep of the age
classes. Emma Scott's very flash
Jenburn Monyana won the 6 year old
class. The lovely WP Midnight Oil
ridden by Jessamy Walsh won the 4 year
old class and scored the highest overall score
across all age classes. Penny Ledner's
lovely Jaybee Alabaster baby Jaybee
Alerich ridden by Shane placed 2nd in
the 4 year old class. Niki and
Wisteria Lane places 2nd in the 5 year
old class. David and Sandra Burton's
Statford Neo performed well
considering he only had four days work since May
and placed 6th in the 5 year old class.
Rachel Watt's had her horse Ziggy
Starrdust in the 6 year old class and
placed 8th. In the final round (jumping
indoors) all the horses went well and handled
the situation very well. Emma horse
Jenburn Monyana was named the
overall champion. All were very proud of
all our young horses and are excited about the
future with them.

Camden CNC (29-20 August)
Unfortunately several of our horses were balloted out so spent the
weekend at home. Of those that attended there were good
results including Shane and APH Moritz placing 3rd
in the 3*, Shane and Statford DeMarco were 10th in
the 3*. Koko Black continued his consistant
run to be 2nd in the 2*, Taurus was also in the 2*
but was a little distracted in the dressage but finished in 12th
place overall. Blameitonthebear that is owned
by Robert Palm and Mark Schembre placed 3rd in the Pre Novice.
It was disappointing that the committee decided to cancel the Prelim
and Intro cross country. Shane was in 3rd place in the Prelim
with Peter and Leone's PPP Samuel Swashbuckle who
scored a fantastic 77.2% in the dressage. Jessamy Walsh was
also in the Prelim with WP Midnight Oil and also
missed out on the cross country run, we disappointing as they were
in 2nd position and the horse in first place was not going cross
country.
Emma Scott had her two horses in the 2*, Jenburn Monyana
really stepped up to the challenge in his first 2* start.
Mustang had a stress free run and is now starting
his preparation for Adelaide CCI4*.
Niki had two horses balloted out buy did ride Milford
Monarch in the 2* and he cruised around his first 2* but
finished out of the placings.
Rachel Watts also had a horse balloted out but did have a good run
on Mr Madoodoe in the Pre Novice.
