SHANE - My Former Horses

All Luck  Lucky was a super talented horse who was (still is) owned by Angela Shacklady.  We purchased Lucky in 2003 from Ebony Tucker.  He quickly progressed up to 4* level with many wins along the way.  In 2006 he travelled to Germany for the World Equestrian Games, unfortunately things did not go our way but we went to Burghley CCI4* in England a few weeks later and placed 3rd.

In 2008 Lucky and I were members of the Silver Medal winning team at the Beijing Olympic Games.  On cross country day Lucky showed his class and came home clear with the fastest time of the day.

Lucky was retired from International competition at the end of 2009 and is now enjoying life at a quieter pace as a dressage horse with good friend Judy Horder.

Peace Matinee - 'Reggie' took me from Pony Club to Advanced eventing.  He was a wonderful campaigner that got me hooked on Eventing.  Reggie was a successful advanced eventer and a very reliable and consistent jumper who rarely had a rail.  Reggie enjoyed retirement before peacefully passing away in 2005.  He is buried on our property.

Duffy's Forest is in the heart of the Ku-ring-gai Chase, so ponies where used to ride to friends houses to watch TV and to get to the shops to get ice creams and lollies. Shane and freinds were known to terrorised the rangers and pleasure riders in the National Park.

Mr Joe Cool - 'Joe' was a wonderful horse.  Only small but hugely talented.  He was competing Advanced as a 6yo.  'Joe' won numerous three day events and represented Australia in Trans Tasman competition.  We were selected for the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 however an injury on arrival in America meant we were unable to compete.  Joe is enjoying retirement at his owners property in Berry, NSW.

Dudley Serious - Dudley was purchased for just a few hundred dollars and he went on to represented Australia at the Trans Tasman competition in New Zealand in 1995.  He was also a reserve horse for the 1996 Olympic Games.  Dudley spent his last few years with a young rider before passing away in 2006.

Beauford Miss Dior - A super mare that I was fortunate to ride for Pam and Ron Slade.  She was a super talent.  Together we won Adelaide CCI4* in 2004, we were short listed for both the Sydney Olympics and Athens Olympics.  She retired in 2005 and has a new role as a broodmare.

Cleddau Bobby Dazzler

Bobby was bred and owned by Margaret Ledner and was part of my team from 2002 to 2009.  He had all the talent in the world and had many wins on his way through the grades.  Including winning Adelaide CCI2* in 2006, in the same year he won Camden, Sydney and Canberra two star classes. In 2007 he placed 2nd in the 3* at Worrigee and 6th in the 3* World Cup qualifier at Werribee. Bobby started 2009 is a successful manner placing 2nd in the Scone CNC3*.

Bobby was cursed with a variety of injuries that prevented him reaching his full potential.  Every time he was performing well something would happen and he would need time off.

Mid 2009 it was decided that Bobby would go to Margaret's daughter Penny and compete at the lower levels.

Cleddau Achtung - A very tall young horse by Jaybee Alabaster, he had very big movement and a good jump. Arlie had wins and placing's up to 1* level before being sold to China as a Dressage horse.

Its A Knockout - 'Josh' was owned by Angela Shacklady, he is the horse that I rode at the World Equestrian Games in Italy in 1998.  A talented horse that was sold to the USA in 2001.

Gandalf the Grey - A lovely horse that won his first three star event as a 6yo.  This horse had an amazing competition record, winning and placing all the way through the grades.  Winner of Sydney CCI2* as a 5yo.  This lovely horse was sold to Italy in 2006.  In 2010 he was a member of the Italian Eventing team at the World Equestrian Games in America.

Statford DeMarco - Marco came to Bimbadeen Park as an unbroken 3yo.  He progressed through to 3* level with wins and placings along the way.  He unfortunately sustained an injury at Sydney 3DE in 2009 which ended his 3* career.  He is now competing at the lower levels with Tamika Hagen.

Milson's Point - A lovely big quiet horse that I competed for Graham McCormack up to three star level before being sold to America.
Never on Sunday - Sold with Milson's Point to America, 'Felix' was a super talented young horse that competed two star as a five year old.
Purbeck Shimmer - A very attractive grey horse that was quiet and easy ride.  Sold as a 1* horse to China.
High Surprise - I had a lovely horse called 'Minnie' that was too small for me and Sharon Ridgeway had a talented horse that was too strong for her so we swapped.  High Surprise was a super talented horse.  He competed 1* before being sold to China.
Thanks a Billion - Owned by Charlotte Mottram 'Extra' was a real honest gentleman that progressed through the grades to three star level before being sold to America.
Vivanthorpe - Holly was a lovely mare by Vivant, she inherited her fathers amazing jump and also had very good movement.  She was a successful 1* horse before being sold to Qld In 2011.
WP Sister Act - Jilly was a lovely mare bred by Carol Chapman.  She was competed to 1* level with success before being sold to WA in 2011.
Dios - A talented young warmblood that was sold to America in 2006.
Bentley Biscuit- Owned by Jill and George Mooratoff.  Bentley is a well known racehorse that has had much success on the track.  He is a multiple group one winner with nearly $1.5 million dollars in prize money.  When he retired from racing his owners were keen to find him a life after racing so he is trying his hand at eventing.  He was a ribbon winner at the Wallaby Hill Hunter Trials in 2009.  He has now moved to John and Pip Coopers which is closer to Jill's. Bentley will continue his performance horse education with Jill and the Coopers.
