ALL LUCK Stable Name: Lucky Description: 16.2hh 1994 bay gelding Breeding: Thoroughbred (by Bao Lack) Owner: Angela Shacklady Competing: Four Star Lucky is our stable star, being the owner of a Olympic Silver Medal! Lucky was a member of the 2008 Olympic Eventing Team that won the Silver at the Beijing Olympics. Lucky had the best cross country score of the whole Olympics. Lucky was purchased in 2003 during the time my leg was in plaster. So, on Niki's recommendation and with Angela as owner Lucky was purchased from Ebony Tucker from Victoria. Lucky is strong in all phases and we have enjoyed a great deal of success together. Lucky won the Sydney CCI in 2004 and was 2nd in the Sydney CCI* in 2005. He also won the NSW State One Day Event Championships at three star level in both 2004 and 2005. We competed at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Germany and shortly after placed 3rd at the Burghley CCI4* in England. In 2007 Lucky won the Camden CIC3* just before EI shut done all competitions in the country. Lucky was retired from competition at the end of 2009 and in now enjoying life living with the broodmares.
STATFORD NOVALIS Stable Name: Novalis Description: 16.2hh 1997 Black ISH Stallion Breeding: Irish Sport Horse (by Ard Black Cat) Owner: John Boyd and Marly Calladine Competing: Three Star Novalis is a beautiful Black Hanoverian X Irish Sport Horse Stallion by ‘Ard Black Cat’. His sought after breeding combined with his fantastic temperament and natural ability make him an outstanding performance horse. He has quickly progressed to three star level with wins and placing's along the way. He is a gentleman to ride and handle. Novalis is a proven Advanced eventer who has also won straight showjumping including the D&C grade class at the National Championship, he defeated a huge field of over 130 starters. His eventing successes include the winning the Adelaide 2* in 2008, in the same year he won the Camden 3* class and placed 4th in the NSW State Championships also at 3* level. In 2009 Novalis placed 3rd at the NSW State Championships CIC3* Goulburn. In 2007 he won the Kooralbyn and Sydney 2* and placed 5th at the Worrigee 3* and Adelaide 2*. Novalis' oldest baby 'Statford Neo' was a winner at his first start, the Prelim at Scone Horse Trials in 2009. His progeny are looking like stars of the future. APH MORITZ Stable Name: Moritz or Morrie Description: 16.2hh 2002 bay gelding Breeding: AUS WB (by APH Coriolo) Owner: Margaret and Ted Ledner, Jamie McDonald and Lee Hokianga, Karin Perkins, Christine Doan and Shane Rose Competing: Three Star Moritz is a real character around the stables. A super talented horse that is always keen to perform for a crowd. Moritz draws attention when ever he goes out with his flash movement and exuberant way of going. His results include winning the 2* at Albury in 2009 and placing 4th in the 2* at Scone, he also placed 3rd in the Camden 3* in September. In 2008 Moritz placed 3rd in the Adelaide CCI2* and won the Canberra 1*. Moritz also won the Sydney Royal Young Event horse Challenge in 2008. I believe Moritz is a huge talent for the future.
TAURUS Stable Name: Arvey Description: 16.2hh 2002 bay gelding Breeding: AUS WB (by Aaries) Owner: Dr Johnnie Walker and Shane Rose Competing: Three Star Arvey was purchased from Kevin McNab as a Prelim horse. Arvey has a the attributes of a successful eventer. He has lovely movement with a big soft scopey jump. I am very excited about Arvey's future. His results to date include 2nd in the 2* at Sydney and Scone and 3rd Albury 2* in 2009 in 2008 Arvey was 8th at Melbourne CCI1* and Adelaide CCI2*. He was 2nd in the Young Event Horse challenge at the Sydney Royal Show. Arvey placed 7th at his first three star run (Canberra CIC)
Koko Black Stable Name: Albert Description: 16.1hh 2000 brown gelding Breeding: TB Owner: Cassie Lowe Competing: Three Star Albert is lovely horse with good paces and a careful jump. He has a very good temperament and is a lovely horse to ride. A very promising horse for the future, he is currently for sale. Performances include: Winner at Berrima CIC1* in April 2009 Winner at Sydney CNC2* in July 2009 2nd Eventing Equestriad CIC2* May 2009 2nd Camden CNC2* August 2009 4th Sydney CCI2* September 2009 4th Camden CNC3* September 2009 2nd Canberra CIC3* October 2009 Winner Australian Showjumping Championships (D Grade) October 2009 (betting a field of 150 starters)
STATFORD NEO Stable Name: Neo Description: 16.2hh 2004 black stallion Breeding: ISH (by Statford Novalis) Owner: David and Sandra Burton Competing: Pre Novice Neo is the oldest Novalis baby and what a great advertisment he is for Novalis. Neo is extremely elegant he is taller and finer than Novalis, he has lovely paces and a super jump. Neo has the fantastic Novalis easy going temperament and quiet disposition. Neo has only just started his eventing schooling and is off to a flying start with a win in the Prelim class at Scone followed by a 2nd placing in the Pre Novice at Berrima (April 09) and 4th place at Goulburn Pre Novice in 2009. Neo has an exciting future as a competition horse and as a breeding stallion.
Cleddau Achtung Stable Name: Arlie Description: 17.1hh 2005 Bay gelding Breeding: WB (by Jaybee Alabaster) Owner: Penny Ledner, Ted Ledner and Shane Rose Competing: Pre Novice A very tall young horse that has big movement and a good jump. He is just commencing his competition career and showing potential for the future. Arlie placed 2nd at the 4yo Young Event Horse class at Sydney Three Day Event. He also placed 2nd at Canberra Prelim and 6th at Goulburn Prelim. He was 6th at his first Pre Novice class in October 09.
Il Vici Stable Name: Il Vici Description: 16.1hh 2004 chestnut gelding Breeding: TB (by Galileo) Owner: Shane Rose Competing: Pre Novice Il Vici was pre-trained at Bimbadeen Park and showed a lovely nature. When Shane heard he was not fast enough on the track he thought he would be worth a try as an eventer. He has nice paces and is showing a good jumping technique but best of all he has a great temperament and really tries to please his rider. We hope that Il Vici will develop into a successful performance horse. Il Vici is currently being ridden by Michelle Robson. Michelle and Vici won the Prelim at Scone CNC in March 2010 and have now moved up to Pre Novice level.
Shanghai Joe Stable Name: Nugget Description: 16.1hh 2006 bay/brown gelding Breeding: TB (by Another Warrior out of Zenaarena) Owner: Shane Rose and Niki Chapman Competing: Prelim Nugget was bred by us to race. He was very slow and described by the trainer as embarrassing. So his racing career was short lived. Thankfully he moves well and has a great jump so he is now destined for an eventing career.
