SHANE ROSE, about my SPONSORS
Bates-Horseland
Ariat
NSW Institute of Sport
EA
Sponsorship is a two way relationship. In return for
much appreciated support,
I'm responsible for testing and reporting back. I
only recommend equipment and
products that I use regularly and in which I believe. We
work very closely to
make sure these are the very best.
Horseland
Supply the equipment used for every day training
and
for competition. For Horseland
web site, click

Weatherbeeta products care for my horses. For

Paddock rugs:
Summer - Kool
Coat cotton combos,
Weatherbeeta
Highlander Combos on cool days
Winter -
Weatherbeeta Aspen Combos whose
main advantage is their light weight and ease of
handling. My mum calls them "granny spoilers" but
they really are "groom pleasers".
Tack and equipment:
I use
Bates
Innova
Dressage saddles for schooling at home and
for competition.
For
jumping I really like the Bates Caprilli Close Contact (Cair)
Saddles. All
these saddles have an interchangeable gullet system so
I can easily alter any
one to fit a particular horse. Because I ride so many
horses every day, comfort
is particularly important. This
range provide
the best seats I have tried.
Leg Protection:
At home I use brushing boots on all every
horse for flatwork. This is particularly important
for the young ones who often get their legs in a
tangle trying to master exercises such as
shoulder-in and half-pass!!
For show-jumping, I use Verdus Gel open-fronted tendon boots and
fetlock boots.
For x-country I like Porta-boots
with leather wraps to hold them in place. I chose
these because they give protection for the horse's
legs at the same time being very light and (most
important) don't hold water.
Ariat
provide the boots I wear for daily training as
well as and in
competition. There is nothing that compares with their
product for comfort. Never make
do with anything less
- your feet deserve it. For the Ariat website, click here.
For more information about Ariat suppliers in
Australia, phone the sole distributors, Just
Country Australia on 07-3217-1577.
After my truck burnt down at Goondiwindi 2000, Ariat sent
me some new boots
to use in the cross country. There are not too many
shoes you could put on new
and run 6 km of the roads and tracks and still be
able to walk! This shows you
what fantastic service they offer and what an
incredible product they sell.
When I'm working horses at home and teaching I use
Ariat Hexcel Devon Pro boots, the zip-up ones
in
cordovan colour with the matching leather half
chaps.
In competition I use Ariat Champion lace-ups.
I can use them for dressage, cross country and
showjumping.
The new Crowne Field Boots will be out soon
and I'm hoping they'll let me road test them too.
Keep tuned for a progress report!
NSW
Institute of Sport
The fitness and general well being of our horses
and our presentation as combinations is our window to
other riders. You can visit their web sites and find
out more.
The training that I receive is provided by the
NSW Institute of Sport.
The institute supports the top athletes in every
sport and for riders they provide an opportunity for
training on a regular basis with the very best
instructors. In addition, we are provided with
physical and educational support by Institute staff.
This involves fitness training for
ourselves supported by physiotherapy and
massage, preparation for public exposure (speech
preparation and delivery) and help coping with
success and failure, both of which are encountered
in every sport.
Every young athlete should aspire to inclusion on
the state squad.
Equestrian
Australia
The Equestrian Federation of Australia (EFA) has
financially supported me through the High
Performance Program. This program has assisted me
through horse and rider funding and direct support
funding for coaching, veterinary and medical
expenses while listed on the National Squad. This
program also funds trip with the National Team to
competitions such as the Trans Tasman Tour and World
Equestrian Games. This financial support assists me
to perform at the highest level.
