SHANE ROSE, Results

Sponsorship is a two way relationship. In return for much appreciated support, I'm responsible for testing and reporting back. I only recommend equipment and products that I use regularly and in which I believe. We work very closely to make sure these are the very best.

Horseland

Supply the equipment used for every day training and for competition. For Horseland web site, click here.
Weatherbeeta products care for my horses. For Weatherbeeta products, click here.
Paddock rugs:
Summer - Kool Coat cotton combos, Weatherbeeta Highlander Combos on cool days
Winter - Weatherbeeta Aspen Combos whose main advantage is their light weight and ease of handling. My mum calls them "granny spoilers" but they really are "groom pleasers".

Tack and equipment:
I use Bates Innova Dressage saddles for schooling at home and for competition.
For jumping I really like the Bates Caprilli Close Contact (Cair) Saddles. All these saddles have an interchangeable gullet system so I can easily alter any one to fit a particular horse. Because I ride so many horses every day, comfort is particularly important. This range provide the best seats I have tried.

Leg Protection:

At home I use brushing boots on all every horse for flatwork. This is particularly important for the young ones who often get their legs in a tangle trying to master exercises such as shoulder-in and half-pass!!

For show-jumping, I use Verdus Gel open-fronted tendon boots and fetlock boots.

For x-country I like Porta-boots with leather wraps to hold them in place. I chose these because they give protection for the horse's legs at the same time being very light and (most important) don't hold water.

Ariat

provide the boots I wear for daily training as well as and in competition. There is nothing that compares with their product for comfort. Never make do with anything less - your feet deserve it. For the Ariat website, click here.

For more information about Ariat suppliers in Australia, phone the sole distributors, Just Country Australia on 07-3217-1577.

After my truck burnt down at Goondiwindi 2000, Ariat sent me some new boots to use in the cross country. There are not too many shoes you could put on new and run 6 km of the roads and tracks and still be able to walk! This shows you what fantastic service they offer and what an incredible product they sell.

When I'm working horses at home and teaching I use
Ariat Hexcel Devon Pro boots, the zip-up ones in
cordovan colour with the matching leather half chaps.

In competition I use Ariat Champion lace-ups. I can use them for dressage, cross country and showjumping.

The new Crowne Field Boots will be out soon and I'm hoping they'll let me road test them too. Keep tuned for a progress report!

NSW Institute of Sport

The fitness and general well being of our horses and our presentation as combinations is our window to other riders. You can visit their web sites and find out more. The training that I receive is provided by the NSW Institute of Sport. The institute supports the top athletes in every sport and for riders they provide an opportunity for training on a regular basis with the very best instructors. In addition, we are provided with physical and educational support by Institute staff. This involves fitness training for ourselves supported by physiotherapy and massage, preparation for public exposure (speech preparation and delivery) and help coping with success and failure, both of which are encountered in every sport. Every young athlete should aspire to inclusion on the state squad.

Equestrian Australia

The Equestrian Federation of Australia (EFA) has financially supported me through the High Performance Program. This program has assisted me through horse and rider funding and direct support funding for coaching, veterinary and medical expenses while listed on the National Squad. This program also funds trip with the National Team to competitions such as the Trans Tasman Tour and World Equestrian Games. This financial support assists me to perform at the highest level.

I am very fortunate to have had many supportive owners though out my career.

Angela now owns All Luck who has been a wonderful horse and taken me to my first Olympics where we brought home a team Silver Medal.

David and Sandra Burton are new owners but I am looking forward to us making a successful team.  David is a skilled horseman that provides his horses with good solid foundations.  David and Sandra own Statford Neo who has just commenced his eventing career.

Cassie Lowe is was a working pupil at Bimbadeen Park in 2008.  She brought with her the lovely Koko Black.  Cassie has decided that Koko Black is not the horse for her so he will now be campaigned by me with the view to being sold.

Jill and George Mooratoff own the outstanding Bentley Biscuit who is a multiple Group one winner on the track.  Bentley Biscuit was such a good horse for them, the Morratoff's are looking for a life after racing for Bentley Biscuit, so they placed him with me.  I hope Jill and George continue to get enjoyment from Bentley Biscuit in his new career.

Carol Chapman has been breeding horses for a number of years and her oldest progeny are just starting their careers.  I am fortunate to benefit from Carol's breeding program.

Christine Doan needs no introduction to the equestrian world.  Christine has had much success in the past as a dressage rider and trainer.  Christine represented Australia at the Barcelona Olympic Games with her wonderful horse Dondolo they competed as individuals in the Dressage competition and finished an impressive 28th in the world.  APH Moritz was purchased from Christine and she has retained a share in the horse.

Past Owners

In the past I have ridden for wonderful supporters such as Cathy and Tony Hooten who owned the wonderful Mr Joe Cool together we were selected to travel to the Atlanta Olympic's. Unfortunately an injury whilst training in America ended our Olympic dream for that year.

I have also ridden a number of horses for Neal Lavis who himself won Gold at the Rome Olympics in 1960, Neal has breed many lovely horse and I am lucky to have ridden several of them. Including the Kianga and Burrenjuck.

Pam and Ron Slade own the fantastic mare Beauford Miss Dior (Willie) that I was lucky enough to ride from 1999 - 2004.  Together we won the Adelaide CCI**** in 2004, after this win Willie was retired and is now enjoying life on the Slade property as a mother.

Charlotte Motram owns Thanks A Billion (Extra) who I campaigned from 2001 - 2004.  In 2004 Extra and I placed 4th in the Sydney CCI**.  Extra has since been sold to America.

Michelle Hasibar and Brett Jones owned the fantastic Wayfarer that I enjoyed success on in 1998 before his tragic death.  I was fortunate to ride their wonderful horse.

Graeme McCormack was my manager for nearly ten year he also owned the lovely chestnut gelding Milson's Point that I rode in 2001-2003.  Milson's Point was sold to America in 2003 and has been successfully campaigned in the US by Tiffany Silverman.

Judy and Gary Clarke owned Smart Enough that I competed during 2001.  Judy and Gary are now a friendly neighbours, we are lucky to have next door.

Veronica Hazelton has spent many years developing a breeding program that produces top class performance horses.  Over the years I worked with many of her horses including Statford Novalis who is now owned by John Boyd and Marly Calladine.
