Shane Rose is one of Australia's most accomplished equestrians and a three-time Olympic medallist, renowned for his resilience, determination, and sustained excellence at the highest level of international sport.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Shane has represented Australia at four Olympic Games, winning Team Silver medals at Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020, and a Team Bronze medal at Rio 2016. He has also competed at multiple World Equestrian Games and earned numerous international victories in the demanding discipline of eventing.
Raised in New South Wales and introduced to horses through Pony Club at the age of five, Shane has built a reputation as one of the sport's toughest and most respected competitors. His journey has been marked not only by success but by extraordinary perseverance. He has overcome serious injuries, life-threatening accidents, and a battle with thyroid cancer, repeatedly returning to elite competition and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his sport.
In 2024, just months after suffering multiple fractures in a devastating training accident, Shane completed an intensive rehabilitation program and returned to compete at the Paris Olympic Games, further cementing his reputation as one of Australia's most resilient athletes.
Beyond the arena, Shane is a horseman, husband, father, coach, and business owner who understands the importance of leadership, teamwork, performance under pressure, and adapting to challenges. 
Today, Shane is a veteran of the sport but he is still competing at the highest level.  His remarkable career that has taken him from Pony Club to the Olympic podium, his courage, perseverance, and love of horses continue to drive him as he aims for greater success in the future.
